Bonds of executors and administrators, 1821-[ongoing].

The probate judge is required to record all letters testamentary and of administration and bonds given by estate executors and administrators (see Ala. Code, 43-2-1 [1975]). This series consists of photocopies or transcriptions of the bonds and letters which provide the name of the executor or administrator, the amount of the bond and date, and stipulate the obligation of the bonded executor or administrator. This record began in 1821 and continues to the present.
